member code of conduct and general etiquette

Each Bodyplex is individually owned and operated. The rules and policies shown here are exclusively for Bodyplex Elberton, but are generally understood to be good basic gym etiquitte. We welcome questions regarding specific activities not listed here.

 

We are especially proud of the positive atmosphere and sense of community that has grown at our clubs over recent years. Please help us continue that by abiding by the following:


PROPER CLOTHING and HYGIENE 

 

  • Shirts must be worn at all times in all areas of the gym. Sports bras are acceptable for women.  

  • Practice good personal hygiene. If you tend to sweat a lot, bring a towel. 

  • The only footwear not welcome is anything muddy or dusty. 

  • Multiple stations with sanitizing wipes are located throughout the gym. Use these to wipe off equipment and benches after use.  

  • We are a 100% smoke and tobacco-free facility. This includes vaping, dipping, and smoking.  


USE OF WEIGHTS and EQUIPMENT 

 

  • Please notify staff of equipment that has malfunctioned. Do not attempt to repair or adjust any equipment.   

  • Don't drop dumbbells

  • The #1 pet peeve of gymgoers is people not reracking their weights. Clean up your weights after your work out!

 

COURTESY 

 

  • Be courteous when taking phone calls. Remember, others don't care to hear your conversation. 

  • Discussion of or commenting on the physical appearance of others (aka body shaming), is unwelcome and will not be tolerated.

  • Unless someone asks for your opinion, don't give it.

  • Use headphones for music or workout videos. 

  • Don't interrupt someone's workout to start a conversation

  • Be nice to the staff. Disrespect or rude behavior of any kind toward them is never tolerated. 

  • No outside personal training is allowed in our facility. Any personal training must be conducted by Bodyplex staff trainers.  


SAFETY and SECURITY 

  • Because we want our members to feel comfortable using the club 24/7, we take security very seriously. Non-members are not allowed in the club after staffed hours. 

  • Do not open the door for someone who does not have a working barcode. 

  • Harassment and unwanted attention toward other members will not be tolerated.  

  • For liability reasons, children are not allowed on the gym floor and cannot be left unattended in the lobby. Please plan for their care prior to visiting the club. 

  • We are here to help you reach your fitness goals and provide you with a safe workout environment. Please let us know if you have any questions or recommendations on how we can best serve your needs.
